Abstract: 
A Powell River resident pled guilty to one count of trafficking in bear gall bladders in Powell River Provincial Court on December 12. Jae Seon Song and Tae Hee Song were charged with 12 counts each relating to alleged violations related to possession and trafficking in wildlife parts. The charges included possession of bear gall bladders, trafficking in bear gall bladders and unlawful possession of dead wildlife. Tae Hee Song pled guilty on count two, committing an offence contrary to the BC Wildlife Act and Regulations, trafficking in bear gall bladders. She was fined $1. She was also order to pay $2,000 to the Habitat Conservation Trust Fund, which is administered by the ministry of environment. As well, the money obtained for the sale of the gall bladders is forfeited to the Crown. The other 11 charges against her and the 12 charges against Jae Seon Song were dropped.
