Abstract:
Three men had a nice thing going -- by day they laboured on a plantation and by night they earned some "overtime" by poaching. That is until someone reported them to the Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department (Perhilitan).
A Perhilitan team raided their homes and found an assortment of endangered species -- some still alive, some dead. Among the animals saved were a leopard cat and a mouse deer.
The carcasses of mouse deer, porcupines and other animals were also found. They also seized a roll of wire used to build traps, a pump action shotgun, and a waist pouch containing 19 bullets.
